Health & Safety Manager 📍 Somerset | Multi-Site Role 💷 Up to £38,490 per annum (30 hours per week) 💷 Full-Time Considered: £42,839 - £46,326 per annum DOE 📅 Permanent | All Year Round Prospero Teaching is delighted to be working with a highly respected education organisation in Somerset to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Health & Safety professional to take ownership of health, safety and compliance across a large multi-site educational environment. The successful candidate will act as the designated competent person for Health & Safety, providing strategic leadership, expert guidance and compliance assurance whilst driving a positive safety culture across multiple schools. We are seeking a proactive and influential individual who can operate at both strategic and operational levels, working closely with senior leaders to ensure statutory compliance and best practice are maintained. The Role As Health & Safety Manager, you will: Act as the designated competent person for Health & Safety Lead the development and implementation of Health & Safety strategy Develop and maintain policies, procedures and compliance frameworks Conduct audits, inspections and compliance monitoring activities Oversee accident, incident and near-miss investigations Advise senior leadership teams on statutory obligations and risk management Monitor legislative changes and ensure organisational compliance Deliver training and guidance to staff across multiple sites Produce compliance reports and risk updates for senior stakeholders Support the development of a positive and proactive safety culture The Ideal Candidate You will have: Essential NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification Significant experience in a senior Health & Safety position Experience working within a complex multi-site organisation Proven experience advising senior leaders on compliance and organisational risk Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations Desirable Chartered IOSH Membership (CMIOSH) or working towards Experience within education, public sector or another highly regulated environment Knowledge of premises compliance including fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene, electrical and gas safety Experience managing external compliance contractors Apply Now If you are an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for your next challenge and would like to play a key role in promoting safe and compliant learning environments, we would love to hear from you.
