SEN Teaching Assistant - Mid Sussex Location: Mid Sussex, West Sussex Job Type: Full Time & Part Time Start Date: ASAP / September 2026 Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Academics are looking for passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across primary schools in Mid Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to children's education and development. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may provide 1:1, small-group or classroom-based support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence and independence. You may be supporting children with: ASD ADHD SEMH Global Developmental Delay Speech and Language needs Complex learning needs EHCPs The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who is: Experienced working with children or young people with SEN Patient, calm and nurturing Confident supporting challenging behaviour where required Able to build positive relationships with pupils Reliable and adaptable Passionate about inclusive educationPrevious school-based experience is desirable, although relevant experience in care, youth work, support work or similar settings may also be considered.
