School Cook / Chef Salary: £27,105 - £30,355 per annum (£14.43-£16.16 per hour) Hours: 40 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks (41 weeks) Contract: Permanent, full-time Start Date: November 2026 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Cook / Chef to join a brand-new specialist school opening in January 2027. You will be responsible for running the school kitchen and providing fresh, nutritious and appealing meals for pupils and staff, including those with dietary, allergen and sensory requirements. Key responsibilities: Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals Planning menus and catering for special dietary requirements Managing stock, ordering and budgets Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards Supporting and supervising kitchen staff Creating a positive dining experience for pupilsAbout you: Previous catering/cooking experience, ideally within a school or similar setting Good knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and special diets Strong organisational and communication skills Experience with stock control and budgeting Passion for providing high-quality, healthy foodAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SPENCER CLARKE GROUP All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy.
