Looking for your next Housing Options contract? An Essex local authority is seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to support the team on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a homelessness professional who is confident managing a varied caseload and delivering high-quality customer outcomes. The role will involve: Assessing homelessness applications and determining duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 Delivering comprehensive housing advice to applicants at risk of homelessness Developing and reviewing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) Working closely with households to prevent homelessness and secure sustainable housing solutions Conducting enquiries and issuing legally compliant decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996What we're looking for: Previous Housing Options experience within a UK local authority Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 Experience managing Prevention and Relief duties from initial approach through to case closure Availability to attend the office twice per weekIf this sounds of interest, please send your CV to (url removed), along with your availability for a call to discuss further
