We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join the frameworks team of an established environmental and civil engineering contractor, supporting a major programme of asset operations and maintenance works across East Anglia, the East Midlands and Lincolnshire.
The role will oversee the delivery of a varied programme of works, including grass cutting, vegetation and weed management, tree works, in-channel works, simple desilting projects and associated environmental maintenance programmes.
This is a hands-on operational position, ideal for someone who enjoys being out on site, managing teams and subcontractors, coordinating resources and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day delivery of site-based environmental and civil engineering works
* Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and operational resources
* Allocate work and supervise delivery to ensure programmes are completed safely and efficiently
* Prepare works for delivery, including plant, materials, labour and site requirements
* Supervise grass cutting, vegetation management, tree works, in-channel and desilting activities
* Prepare and coordinate method statements, risk assessments and other site documentation
* Monitor site progress, quality, costs and programme performance
* Coordinate temporary works where required
* Carry out site inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements
* Manage waste and environmental considerations
* Liaise with clients, neighbours, subcontractors and other stakeholders
* Work closely with senior management on programmes, operational requirements and project delivery
About You
We are looking for a confident Site Manager / Site Supervisor with experience in one or more of the following:
* Civil engineering
* Environmental works
* Waterways / water management
* Highways
* Vegetation or land management
* Utilities or other field-based operational environments
You should have experience managing site teams and subcontractors, ideally including responsibility for a ganger or equivalent operational resource.
You will need to be organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple activities across a geographically dispersed region.
SMSTS or equivalent site management training would be advantageous.
Location & Travel
This is a field-based role, covering East Anglia, the East Midlands and Lincolnshire, with travel across a wide regional area.
The role is not permanently office-based and will involve periods of extended site presence. For East Midlands in-channel and desilting projects, you should expect to be site-based for a minimum of four days per week while works are underway.
If you're an experienced Site Manager with a background in civil engineering, environmental, waterways, highways or operational maintenance, and you're looking for a varied, field-based role with long-term opportunity, we'd be keen to hear from you
