Logistics Transport Planner Hams Hall, Coleshill 08:00 - 16:00 Monday - Friday Circa £31,000 plus benefits If you would like to work in a busy transport office where no one day will be the same and you will have ongoing training & development, this is the Transport Planner role for you. Job role / duties Plan and coordinate daily transport routes and vehicle allocations, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Monitor deliveries and respond quickly to delays or operational issues Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and health & safety requirements Optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs Maintain accurate transport records and planning documentation Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and availability Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation Use transport management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively Work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to maintain high service standards while optimising routes and transport costs. To be considered or this role you MUST: Have experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination Be highly organised and possess good problem-solving skills Have proven ability working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities Possess good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability Be an excellent written and verbal communicator Be highly competent in Microsoft Office and transport planning systems Understand driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations Ideally possess CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance Understand logistics KPIs and reporting This role is being advertised by the Telford office of Ethero, where you will find access to both permanent and temporary employment across a wide range of job sectors covering the whole of Shropshire.
