Maths Tutor - Wigan Location: Wigan Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching are looking for a confident Maths Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to a young person in Wigan. We are keen to hear from tutors who can make Maths approachable, break down difficult concepts and adapt sessions according to the learner's current level. Key Duties Deliver engaging 1:1 Maths tuition Assess existing knowledge and identify learning gaps Plan structured sessions around individual targets Reinforce core mathematical skills Use varied resources and explanations Build confidence and encourage independent learning Monitor and report on progress Candidate Requirements Previous experience teaching or tutoring Maths Strong subject knowledge Experience supporting secondary-age learners desirable Ability to adapt explanations to individual needs Excellent communication skills QTS, PGCE or relevant teaching/tutoring experience desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy
