Civils Estimator / Quantity Surveyor Location: Farnborough, Hampshire Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Permanent We are looking for an experienced Civils Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction business based in Farnborough, Hampshire. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure who enjoys working across both estimating and commercial functions. The Role * Preparing accurate estimates and tenders for civils and groundworks projects * Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation * Completing detailed take-offs and measurements * Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages * Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations * Preparing bills of quantities and tender returns * Supporting the commercial team with cost planning and procurement * Managing project costs from tender through to completion * Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts * Monitoring project expenditure and commercial performance * Identifying commercial risks and opportunities * Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams * Attending site visits and tender meetings where required * Maintaining accurate estimating and cost information About You * Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or Estimator/QS * Strong background in civils, groundworks or civil engineering * Good understanding of construction costs, measurements and procurement * Experience pricing tenders and analysing subcontractor quotations * Commercially aware with strong attention to detail * Confident communicating with clients, suppliers and site teams * Able to work independently and manage multiple tenders/projects * Full UK driving licence preferred What's on Offer * Permanent position based in Farnborough, Hampshire * Competitive salary based on experience * Opportunity to join a growing business * Varied civils and groundworks projects * Long-term progression and development opportunities * Supportive and commercially focused team
