We are recruiting for a Technical Proposals & Documentation Engineer to join a growing engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised technical professional who enjoys working with engineering documentation, proposals, estimating, compliance, and process improvement.
The Role
Working closely with sales, engineering, and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring technical information is accurately translated into professional proposals, reports, and business documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
The Proposals & Documentation Engineer will be producing detailed technical proposals, quotations, and cost estimates for bespoke engineering projects.
Collaborating with sales and engineering teams to develop customer-focused technical solutions.
Preparing high-quality technical reports and compliance documentation.
Creating and maintaining Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Managing project documentation and maintaining accurate records through ERP and business systems.
Supporting the standardisation and continuous improvement of internal documentation processes.
The Proposals & Documentation Engineer will be acting as a key link between sales, design, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure accurate project information is communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
Supporting quality and compliance requirements through accurate and professional documentation.About You
The successful candidate will have:
A background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical environment is ideal
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Experience producing quotations, estimates, technical proposals, or project documentation.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong IT skills with the ability to quickly learn and utilise new software systems.
The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
A proactive approach with a focus on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.Desirable Experience
Experience using ERP systems.
Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes or engineered systems.
Familiarity with compliance documentation, technical reporting, or engineering standards.
Experience within a project-based engineering or manufacturing environment.
