Description
Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about supporting their learning, development and confidence.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide one-to-one, small-group and general classroom support, helping pupils stay engaged and overcome any barriers to learning. The role may involve supporting pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs, so a patient, adaptable and positive approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
Providing one-to-one and small-group support
Supporting pupils with their learning and development
Assisting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
Helping pupils remain focused, motivated and engaged
Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Adapting support to meet individual pupil needs
Preparing and organising learning resources
Working closely with teachers and other support staff
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
School, SEN, care or youth work experience is beneficial
Patient, caring and empathetic
Confident supporting pupils with a range of needs
Resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, proactive and adaptable
Passionate about supporting children's education and development
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential, depending on experienceThis role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants and LSAs, graduates, support workers, youth workers or candidates looking to develop a rewarding career within education.
