Position- Fabric Engineer/ Maintenance Operative Location- Bullring, Birmingham Address- Bullring, Moor Street, Birmingham, B5 4BU Job Type- Fulltime Shift type- Rotational (On call rota basis) Shift timing- 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 11:00 – 8:00 PM Core Responsibilities: * Planned and reactive maintenance: painting, joinery, minor building repairs * Update completed PPM tasks on computerised maintenance system * Assist specialist subcontractors with PPM and reactive works * Maintain accurate site records and documentation * Inspect services and proactively manage call-outs/repairs * Attend site emergencies outside normal working hours * Work at high level using platforms and ladders * Maintain company-issued tools in safe, serviceable condition Essential Requirements: * City & Guilds / NVQ in Carpentry, Joinery, Construction & Building * Previous team working experience * Customer service skills * Competent knowledge of building fabric: joinery, painting, small building works Key Conditions: * Must reside near Bullring Birmingham (available for call-out) * The incumbent will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the retail sector. This will require work at weekends and in the evenings and the salary has been set to reflect this. Desirable Skills: * Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent * Health & Safety qualifications * Team leadership experience * Building services maintenance (plumbing, drainage) * Supporting mechanical/electrical tradesmen
