Mechanical Fitter / Tester 2-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Telford Salary: £17.80ph (Approximately £36,000+ pro rata), plus overtime opportunities. Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter, Tester, or Assembly Technician looking for your next contract opportunity? We're recruiting for a leading engineering manufacturer in Telford that designs and builds bespoke material handling equipment supplied to customers worldwide. Due to increased workload, we are looking for skilled Mechanical Fitters / Testers to join the team on an immediate 2-month contract, with overtime available and the opportunity to work on complex, high-quality machinery. Key Responsibilities: Mechanical assembly and fitting from technical engineering drawings Installation of hydraulic systems, components and pipework Testing, commissioning and fault finding on completed machinery Using hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment safely Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards Maintaining accurate documentation and workshop housekeeping Supporting team members and contributing to continuous improvement What We're Looking For: Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent hands-on experience Previous mechanical fitting, machine assembly, or equipment build experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills A proactive approach with a strong focus on quality, safety and teamwork Suitable Backgrounds We welcome applications from candidates with experience as: Mechanical Fitter Mechanical Assembler Hydraulic Fitter Mechanical Technician Maintenance Fitter Multi-Skilled Fitter Test & Repair Technician Hydraulic Engineer What's On Offer?
