Maintenance Supervisor West Highland  Permanent | Day Shift | Competitive Salary + Benefits Are you an experienced maintenance leader ready to step up and own the day-to-day delivery of maintenance across a major industrial site? This is a genuine leadership opportunity within a well-established heavy industrial operation in the Highlands, where you'll take charge of coordinating priorities, resources and people across the whole maintenance function. The Role As Maintenance Supervisor you will support the Head of Department and set the priorities and pace for planned, urgent and breakdown work across all plant areas. You'll manage and hold Department Engineers accountable for delivery and performance, while staying closely plugged into what's actually happening on the ground - schedule adherence, work quality, backlog and repeat failures. It's a role that blends people leadership with hands-on reliability thinking, working in close partnership with Operations and reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. What You'll Be Doing Leading safe day-to-day maintenance delivery across all plant areas Setting priorities and coordinating planned, urgent and breakdown work and resources site-wide Managing and supporting Department Engineers, holding them accountable for delivery and performance Coordinating craft resources and apprentices across departments, including apprentice mentoring and development towards time-served competency Monitoring weekly schedule delivery, work quality, CMMS compliance and overall maintenance performance Reviewing breakdowns, backlog, preventive maintenance and repeat failures, and ensuring actions are followed through Acting as the day-to-day interface with Operations on priorities, plant condition and recovery Escalating significant safety, environmental, operational, reliability and resource risks to the Maintenance Manager Overseeing significant contractors and supporting shutdowns, projects, plant modifications and new equipment installations Supporting the Maintenance Manager with maintenance strategy, resource planning and continuous improvement What We're Looking For Solid engineering maintenance experience in a heavy engineering environment, with a mechanical or electrical bias Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing engineering staff Strong understanding of planned, reactive and reliability-centred maintenance Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation Knowledge of industrial process plant, relevant standards and technical procedures Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance performance measures Strong leadership, communication, prioritisation and coaching skills Experience mentoring apprentices and developing technical competence COMAH experience desirable This is a step into leadership of a maintenance function, with real scope to shape how the department operates and develops its people.
