Contract Manager – Groundworks & Civils Location: Essex Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 Type: Permanent We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join an established Groundworks & Civils team, overseeing projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is a key management position responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of multiple projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, site teams and senior management. Key Responsibilities Manage projects across programme, cost, quality, health & safety and client satisfaction Plan, programme and monitor projects from commencement to completion Manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers Monitor project costs, variations, budgets and commercial performance Attend tender handovers and pre-start meetings Manage procurement and material reconciliation Monitor and maintain high H&S and environmental standards Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues effectively Provide regular progress and commercial reports to senior management About You 10+ years' construction experience, ideally within Groundworks & Civils Strong understanding of construction processes, H&S legislation and industry best practice Experience managing multiple projects and teams Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Black CSCS or CCDO SMSTS First Aid at Work A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying (including an industrial placement) This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager / Senior Contracts Manager / Construction Manager looking to take responsibility for major Groundworks & Civils projects and play a key role within a growing organisation.
