Our Oil & Gas client based in South Aberdeen is currently recruiting for the position of Management Accountant based in Aberdeen   STAFF role   Excellent salary & benefits package   What are we looking for:   An experienced Management Accountant, preferably with a background in the oil & gas industry with the following key skills and experience:   Experience of Data Rails finance system to become an advanced user in the business. Experience of statutory accounts so support can be offered with this Ability to support standalone projects. ROLE The Management Accountant will provide accurate and timely account information of high quality to the business allowing both reporting to the board and improved decision making across the business.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Analysis of corporate costs and identification of opportunities to save/streamline. Prepare and post journals relating to different activities including lease accounting, payroll, intercompany interest and funding, month end accruals/prepayments to complete month close. Gross margin analysis and commentary on deviations against plan for activities in the month and year to date.  This will also involve project accounting reconciliation to value of work done. Allowing margin review of all revenue generating activities. Balance sheet review and sign off ensuring full transparency and, identification of aged items and, follow up action. FX accounting ensuring the correct postings have been made across the income statement. Administrator for Data Rails including budget responsibility and year end template roll over and reconciliation. Audit and tax compliance support. Preparing statutory accounts for one legal entity. The business intends to refinance. New debt is likely to be in the form of bonds listed on Oslo BORS which will require quarterly audited reporting. Candidate will support this process. Participation in business improvement initiatives.   KEY OUTCOMES To ensure that there is effective, accurate and timely reporting Financial systems are effective, robust and compliant Financial policies and procedures of the Company are maintained and effective The assets of the company are protected and safeguarded Effective relationships internally and with key business partners, including 3rd party suppliers   SAFETY LEADERSHIP Prioritises safety first and proactively looks for opportunities to intervene to prevent safety incidents. Complies with all organisational safety standards and guidance. Looks for opportunities through their role to improve safety through understanding risk and the importance of reducing hazards. Holds those that do not comply with relevant safety standards to account.   SKILLS & EXPERIENCE   ESSENTIAL A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA). Ability to learn to learn systems quickly and, develop reporting requirements. Experience in a similar environment is not essential but working across multi- functional teams is essential.
