Contracts Manager – Water & Civils Location: North East England Salary: £75,000–£85,000 + package Job Type: Permanent We are working with an established North East civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team. The role will focus on the delivery of projects within the water and wastewater sector, working closely with clients, project teams, subcontractors and site management to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager with a genuine civils and water background to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of live projects. The Role As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects, providing leadership across the operational, commercial and site teams. You will be involved from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are properly planned, resourced and delivered in line with programme, budget, quality and H&S requirements. Key Responsibilities * Manage multiple civil engineering projects within the water/wastewater sector * Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Site Managers and site teams * Take overall responsibility for project delivery, programme and performance * Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site resources * Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance * Work closely with commercial teams to manage variations and commercial issues * Liaise with clients and key stakeholders * Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures * Review programmes and ensure key milestones are achieved * Identify and manage project risks * Attend site and client meetings as required * Support pre-construction, tendering and estimating activities where required About You The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with proven experience managing projects within the water or wastewater sector. You should have previous experience operating at Contracts Manager level, or be an experienced Project Manager/Senior Project Manager ready to step into a broader Contracts Management position. Relevant experience could include: * Water and wastewater infrastructure * Utilities * Drainage * Groundworks * Infrastructure civils * Treatment works * Pipeline works * Concrete/RC structures * General civil engineering Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams are essential.
