Description
We are growing our geotechnical team and need an engineer to design foundations and manage ground investigations.
What you will do
- Plan and supervise ground investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and lab testing
- Interpret ground data and write Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports
- Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes and earthworks to Eurocode 7
- Carry out analyses for settlement, bearing capacity and slope stability
- Advise clients, designers and contractors on ground risks
- Support site work during construction
What you need
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related subject; an MSc in geotechnics is an advantage
- 3+ years in geotechnical design or ground investigation
- Good knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK ground investigation practice
- Experience with analysis software such as Plaxis, Slope/W or Oasys
- Full UK driving licence and a CSCS card, or able to get one
Nice to have
- Contaminated land assessment experience
- Infrastructure experience (highways, rail or flood defence)
- Chartered status (CEng) with ICE or the Geological Society, or working towards it
