Junior Business Systems Developer

Full time in the office 9am till 5pm

Salary flexible £28-35k

Graduate position

Job Description

• Investigate and resolve day-to-day issues within internal software platform
• Support internal stakeholders with new

requirements and bug fixes

• Monitor system performance and investigate any unexpected behaviour
• Testing new deployments to ensure stability
• Help improve existing processes, automation and reporting
• Learn the existing codebase, database structure and business processes
• Assist with data queries and troubleshooting using SQL
• Use development tools such as Claude or Codex to support investigation and Development tasks
• Opportunity to grow with the role and take on greater responsibility across projects supporting the internal system.

Core Competencies

• PHP development and debugging experience
• SQL and relational database understanding
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript fundamentals
• Understanding of APIs and system integrations
• Logical problem solving and analysis for the root cause
• Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise support tickets effectively
• Willingness to learn business processes and translate them into technical deployments
• Understanding of testing and safe change deployment
• Experience using Git, GitHub or other version control tools
• Understanding of cloud hosting or server environments
• Office 365 suite experience
