Description

Full-Stack Software Developer

Remote Full-time

A growing cyber security consultancy is looking for a Software Developer to build and maintain web applications that help organisations protect their systems and data.

You'll work across the front end and back end, developing practical tools used in real-world cyber defence. You'll have the chance to take ownership of your work, contribute ideas and help improve how the team builds secure, reliable software.

What you'll be doing

  • Building responsive front-end applications using React
  • Developing server-side applications and RESTful APIs with Node.js
  • Writing clear, efficient and well-documented JavaScript
  • Applying secure development practices to protect applications and user data
  • Identifying and helping to resolve security vulnerabilities
  • Working with designers, product managers and other developers to deliver features
  • Taking part in code reviews and sharing constructive feedback
  • Troubleshooting issues across the stack
  • Contributing to technical decisions and improving development processes

What we're looking for

  • Around 3-4+ years' professional JavaScript development experience
  • Strong React experience
  • Solid experience building back-end services with Node.js
  • Understanding of web application security, including authentication, authorisation, data protection and OWASP principles
  • Experience using Git or another version control system
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A self-motivated, resourceful approach and the ability to work independently

Useful, but not essential

  • Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of TypeScript

If you enjoy building useful software and care about developing it securely, we'd like to hear from you.
